The most popular hydrangeas in the home garden.
When you think of the hydrangea, you probably envision the Mophead Hydrangea. It is the most commonly grown of the flowering shrubs. The name perfectly describes the layout of the flower clusters that can range in color from pink and white to blue to lavender, depending on the composition of the soil in which it is planted.
The Mophead Hydrangea is well suited to zones 5 – 9 and will produce well in sun to partial shade. Most varieties prefer moist soil for summer to fall blooms.
