(Oakleaf Hydrangea) A more compact native Oakleaf Hydrangea, Gatsby’s Gal™ is a great choice for the smaller garden while still offering superior visual impact. An abundance of very large pure white blooms are held atop a 5-6 foot mound of green foliage that turns to a beautiful shade of burgundy red in the fall. The flowers of Gatsby’s Gal™ are stunning in bouquets and may also be dried for decoration. Plant Gatsby’s Gal™ in full sun to part shade in a moist well-drained location. Gatsby’s Gal™ may require some winter protection in northern climates and blooms on old growth so prune after the flowering season. Fertilize in early spring with a slow release fertilizer for shrubs and trees. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.
