Plant Description

(Hebe) A captivating shrub, ‘Wild Romance’ Hebe forms a nice size habit of 18-24 inches tall and 24-32 inches wide and displays exciting color in the landscape. In summer the foliage of ‘Wild Romance’ showcases leaves with dark green centers bordered with bright green and edged in a rich plum color. In fall and winter the foliage deepens to a red color that becomes more intense with the cooler temperatures and bright sunshine. ‘Wild Romance’ produces large blue flowers in early summer against the backdrop of variegated foliage. ‘Wild Romance’ Hebe is an evergreen best suited to milder climates (zones 8-10) but planted in a sheltered location makes a great “annual” option for those colder climates. In milder climates plant ‘Wild Romance’ in containers, use as edgings and low borders, or plant individually for spot color throughout the garden. ‘Wild Romance’ Hebe requires full sun, prefers well drained soil, and may be trimmed to shape after the flowering season. A deer resistant shrub selection. Introduction Year: 2013 Patent Strings: ‘Wild Summer’ Hebe PP22,745
