Cornus

Brighten the Landscape With Four Seasons of Color (Dogwood)

Deer resistant Cornus is a great specimen shrub for the landscape. From spring to fall an abundance of dark green foliage covers the shrub and in late spring Dogwood produces creamy white flowers. The colorful stems of Cornus are red or yellow with blood red tips that brighten up the winter landscape and may be cut to add detail to floral arrangements.

Cornus requires sun or part shade and forms an upright habit that grows 3-4’ in height and width. Since Cornus/Dogwood blooms on old wood, pruning should be done after the flowering season has ended. A great shrub for grouping displays or as a perennial border.
