The United States Department of Agriculture has produced a cold hardiness map to help you protect your plant investment. Hardiness Zone maps show geographically the defined areas where plant life is capable of growing, the climate conditions under which the plant has the ability to withstand certain minimum temperatures. For example zone 2 extends north into Canada while sunny, warm Florida is a zone 10. |

Be sure to include other factors that will affect the survival of your plant. Heat also plays a strong role as well as the amount of rainfall your plant will tolerate. Snow cover and the amount of protection from the elements as to where the plant is located will also be factors to consider.
