(Sweetshrub) 'Aphrodite' Sweetshrub, you will love the beauty of this new and improved Calycanthus. The large, Bright Red flowers of 'Aphrodite' resemble that of Magnolias. The beautiful flowers not only look great, they also very fragrant and rebloom throughout the summer. The beautiful green foliage has a nice glossy sheen. 'Aphrodite' has a tall upright habit standing 6-7' tall and 5-6' wide. The beautiful blooms appear on old wood, so be sure to trim back if desired after it is done flowering in the summer or fall. Calycanthus 'Aphrodite' grows best in moist well drained soils in full sun to part shade.
